Vehicle Description Beautifully restored 1966 Lincoln Continental Convertible Automatic V8 in Carolina blue with an Ivory white Convertible top.
Lincoln simplified its offerings for 1961 with the hugely refined Continental.
Offered only in four-door sedan and four-door convertible, the new car stunned the press and public alike.
Agonizingly restrained, the Continental wore just enough brightwork to highlight details and accentuate the design.
The rear-hinged rear doors were a throwback to another era, but this car made it work.
It was the epitome of elegance and sophistication, a design the wealthier set largely gravitated to as they sought to leave the era of fins, flash and chrome behind them.
Smaller than the outgoing 1958-1960 Lincoln offerings, they proved easier to drive and maneuver, especially in city traffic and tight parking spaces; simply put, the new Continental was teaching the world a new way to do things.
This example was recently restored and we acquired it this year.
The 66 Continental offers a 462 CI V-8 with 340 HP/485 lb-ft of torque.
The engine and automatic transmission were engineered to be one of the smoothest, quietest combinations ever built.
This one is equipped with power steering, power brakes, power windows, power locks, air conditioning, a heater and defroster and a power top.
Presented in Carolina blue with Ivory top, the Continental rolls on new white walls with original hubcaps.
